SNAP Program

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, provides food-purchasing assistance for low-and no-income people living in the United States. It is a federal aid program, administered by the United States Department of Agriculture, under the Food and Nutrition Service(FNS), though benefits are distributed by each U.S. state's Division of Social Services or Children and Family Services.

Latino Memphis assist clients with completing and submitting the application. This does not have a cost, but a donation is suggested. This service is provided by appointment.

In order to help you process your application, you must bring all of the following:

  • Valid identification
  • Check stubs or personalized income letter (The last 8 check stubs if you are paid weekly or the last 4 check stubs if you are paid bi-weekly)
  • Your child’s social security card
  • Child’s birth certificate
  • MLGW bill
  • Rent contract
