Latino Memphians can take advantage of a one stop shop format Monday through Thursday at El Centro. We have partnered with several community organizations to offer a variety of services.
Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS)
An attorney is available to provide free legal consultations for non-criminal matters. MALS provides free legal assistance and representation in civil (non-criminal) matters to eligible clients in Shelby, Fayette, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee. MALS also provides community education and outreach in those counties.
Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region
Offers guidance about various family planning methods available in the market. On Mondays, Planned Parenthood provides free confidential HIV testing from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Most people who wish to become clients of Derechos must attend a “New Client Intake.” These appointments occur on Wednesday mornings and afternoons only and have a cost of $20. The appointment is meant to be a short screening to determine whether the attorney can potentially represent you.
How to make your appointment
Whether you want to discuss your immigration case with a Derechos attorney or like to attend the New Client Intake on Wednesdays, you will need to make an appointment by calling or sending a text message to 901.410.0195 or by sending an email to email@example.com.
Entre Mujeres is a program focused on Latina empowerment. The curriculum centers on highlighting Latina success and aiding the awareness of sociopolitical issues. Through mentorships, students will engage in activities that not only encourage personal growth, but strong communities.
